Glamour Ghoul School
Doe Demure's Glamour Ghoul School is a concoction of Fusion belly dance, Burlesque and spook. The name is a nod to goth icon Vampira, but inspiration is taken from all spooky royalty such as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, with her camp "Carry On" humour, aswell as ethereal creatures and spectres.

GGS performance Intensive
Online Zoom & in person Glamour Ghoul School workshops with performance at The Butterfly Boudoir CHRISTMAS Showcase
Learn a BAD-ASS fusion belly dance and/or cutesy Christmas burlesque STRIPTEASE choreography, and perform with the Glamour Ghoul School on The Butterfly Boudoir stage at Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester (UK) Saturday 9th December!
Fusion Belly dancers will learn the 'Backstage' *ROCK*STAR* routine- seen first in the GothlaUK theatre show! Here's the music track.
Burlesque performers will learn the cutest 'Holly Jolly Christmas' striptease routine- you'll be peeling off gloves, stockings, & there's a corset removal too. This routine was created during the pandemic and performed online, it's time to give it it's on stage debut! Find the festive track here.
How it works?
- Book burlesque or belly dance intensives, or both at a discounted rate (we'll make sure you have time to change costumes). Attend either on Zoom, at Create Dance Studio in Leicester, or learn with the Zoom recordings.
- Dancers receive instructions on costume during the classes and can practice with the class recordings until the in person rehearsals.
- Dancers will need to send a practice video of themselves dancing the routine/s by 1st December (don't worry, it's not a test, it's just so Doe knows where to place you in the show!).
- On show day dancers attend an in person rehearsal at Create Studios Leicester (studio 5, upstairs). We organise the routines in to positions and practice, practice, practice!
- Dancers arrive early in the evening at Attenborough Arts Centre for final rehearsals on the stage, then its showtime!
Do I have to perform?- No, you can enjoy learning the choreographies without needing to perform. You can still book a ticket to watch the show if you wish :)
What level are the intensives?
BURLESQUE: The Burlesque intensive is open level, anyone can join. Doe suggests you have some prior stage experience, though it doesn't have to be in burlesque. This time it will be a strip tease routine, meaning you will remove clothing! You can do the full reveal to nipple tassels/pasties, or you can reveal just to a bra- up to you.
FUSION BELLY DANCE: You will need an understanding of belly dance as technique will not be broken down. However, there will be progression options for more or less advanced dancers. This time there'll be small amount of fast waacking style arms! But this technique will be explained.

Three Wednesdays: September 6th 13th & 20th, 7:30-8:30pm BST in Leicester at Create studio & on Zoom + recordings for all participants
-Burlesque choreography intensive (open level)
Three Wednesdays: October 11th, 18th & 25th, 7:30-8:30pm BST in Leicester at Create studio & on Zoom + recordings for all participants
-Saturday 9th December rehearsal day at Create Studio Leicester:
11am-12:30pm GMT Burlesque intensive rehearsal
-6pm GMT Stage rehearsals at Attenborough Arts Centre.
-8pm GMT The Butterfly Boudoir Christmas burlesque & belly dance show at Attenborough Arts Centre
What about costume?- Dancers need to provide their own costumes, guidance will be provided. We will endeavour to keep costs down and you can use items you already own if they fit the brief.

Book both GGS intensives for £95* (save £15)
*show ticket must be purchased additionally to take part in the performance, tickets are just £12 plus fees. Ticket holders will be able to sit and watch the show when not performing. Ticket booking link will be sent when the venue opens sales.
